Graham crackers aka one of the most iconic ingredients in the baking world. But did you know that you can make your own at home?! Homemade graham crackers are the best!

In Hungary we don’t have graham crackers so they were always a huge mistery for me. Until now!

I decided to make my owns and they turned out delicious. Of course I don’t know if they are completely the same to the store-bought ones. But they tast amazing for sure.

It’s such a quick and simple recipe. A must have if you can’t buy the real ones where you live! You can use it in other recipes, for S’mores (I used this recipe in my S’mores ice cream sandwiches) or just as a snack. It is also a perfect Christmas gift idea because it’s ready in an hour!

Christmas is sooooooo close I am just way too excited. The last 10 days of the countdown are my favorites, because I don’t have to learn that much for school, everything and everybody is in the Christmas mood and you can really feel the excitement in the air. Also this weekend we start the holiday baking with my family!!! Of course I am most excited for this!

I still have a few presents to make, to be honest I am quite late this year! Have you guys already finished/bought/wrapped your gifts?

Even though it’s almost Christmas you still got time to make these super delicious graham crackers as a gift or just for yourself, because you deserve it!

P.s.: What's your current favorite Xmas song? Now I am obsessed with Snowman by Sia!

  • 1 cup or 170g brown sugar

  • ¾ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and cinnamon together in a food processor.

  2. Add the butter to the dry ingredients and pulse until the mixture looks like wet sand.

  3. In a separate jug, whisk the milk, honey and vanilla together.

  4. Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms. It will be a bit sticky.

  5. Wrap it into plastic wrap and set it into the fridge for 30 minutes.

  6. Preheat your oven to 350 F or 175 C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough it’s about ¼ cm thick but not too thin. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut out squares.

  8. Bake them for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool down completely.
